September 2008 Sierra Nevada Mountains/Yosemite trip

We spent twelve days traveling through Nevada and California, stopping for two days in Las Vegas to visit Tom and Mary Frankert, two great friends of ours. We then went to Carson City, NV for two days where we made trips to Virginia City, and Lake Tahoe. We then made a trip over the Sierra Nevada Mountains and down to Yosemite National Park. It was AWESOME! We had nice weather the whole trip. There was actually snow at the top of the mountains and all but one pass was snowed in so we ended up with an 80 mile detour to get over the mountains into California from Nevada.
